Brush Filling Material
Here you will find the details and specifications on the brush filling options available in our range of wire brushes. Should you not be able to find the information you are looking for please contact us.
Abrasive Filaments (SIC/AO)
Abrasive Filaments consist of polymide bristles containing abrasive grain, giving this type of brush the added advantage of a grinding action on the side as well as the face. Ideal for grinding, deburring, cleaning, polishing and fine surface finishing of plastic and metal parts. With their flexible surface brushes with abrasive filaments will align to the different shape of the work piece. Available with a grit range between K60 to K1000 composed of either aluminium oxide (AO) or silicon carbide (SIC).
Brass Wire (MES)
Brass Wire (MES) is available in both straight and crimped options. Brass Wire is softer and gives a less aggressive finish than steel wire. Among other applications brass wire is suitable for working with mild bleaches and is mainly used for processing of nonferrous metals.
In Laminated Wire Brushes each individual wire filament is coated with a tough plastic. This makes a laminated brush both easier and safer to handle and provides higher performance due to less wire breakage than a traditional wire brush. Available in both crimped and twist knot options.
Natural Fibre (FIB)
Natural Fibre (FIB) is a heat resistant plant fibre, being slightly abrasive this is used for fine polishing applications as well as general cleaning. Particularly suited for use with wood based materials.
Stainless Steel Wire (ROF)
Steel Wire (ROF) is available in both straight and crimped options. Stainless Steel Wire brushes must be used when working on stainless steel to prevent contamination of the work piece. ROF: Material number WNr. 1.430 (AISI 304). This wire is resistant against corrosion and certain acids and bleaches.
Stainless Steel Wire - High Tensile (ROH)
High Tensile Stainless Steel Wire (ROH) is characterized by its high tensile strength and long working life even in extreme brushing applications. Stainless Steel Wire brushes must be used when working on stainless steel to prevent contamination of the work piece. ROH: Material number WNr. 1.4310 (AISI 301). This wire is resistant against corrosion and certain acids and bleaches.
Steel Wire (STA)
Steel Wire (STA) is available in both straight and crimped options. This wire is alloyed with manganese in order to increase its toughness. The result is a higher tensile strength and a longer lifetime of the brush.
Steel Wire - High Tensile (STH)
High Tensile Steel Wire (STH) is available in both straight and crimped options. This wire is most often used in knotted brushes, deburring brushes and pipeline brushes were the tensile strength and high fatigue rates produce a longer lifetime for extreme brushing applications.
Synthetic Filaments (PA)
Synthetic Filaments are flexible and resistant to abrasion. These filaments are perfect for cleaning, grinding or surface processing of metal, plastic or wood. Available are: PA: Polyamide - PA 6, PA 6.6, PA 6.12
